I'm back from Malaysia, Truly Asia. The local food, fun and laughter had been overshadowed by a horrific experience back in Kuala Lumpur..
The trip had been truly enjoyable, time had been well spent indeed. A huge gathering at Genting of around 20 was warm admist the cool climate up there. Met up with so many cousins, uncles and aunts and we shared our stories for the past year or so. With my sister reporting about her New York life and me about my recent cooking adventure, we sure had much to catch up on. Local food such as Asam Laksa, Char Kuay Teow, Wantan Mee, Cendol, Nasi Lemak was undoubtedly marvellous.
Oh yeah, I bought a pair of the cute Yoshi the baby dragon bathroom slippers.

I was proud to be a Malaysian by Nationality on IC. Why?
Kuala Lumpur, being the capital of the country, was supposed to be accessible. To my horror, it turned out to be inaccessible, irritatingly disgusting. The police force is inefficient in clearing the heavy downpour, leaving thousands stranded outside the city, the Djies', unfortunately, became one. After 4 gruelling hours circling around KLCC, we finally got into Pusat Banda Raya (city centre), the reason: a reported accident occured in downtown, leaving roads blocked. Cause: Poor drainage system, poor telecommunications, totally inefficient police force.
1 heavy downpour is all it takes to bring the whole city down. We wasted 1 entire night in K.L., circling round and round the city, witnessing reckless and selfish drivers who cut 3-4 lanes at a time; unwilling to give way; not giving signals upon turning. Little wonder Malaysia are still in Stage 3 of Rostow's Model.
From this experience, I was glad to give up my Malaysian citizenship in exchange for a Singapore one. Singapore's police force is efficient, hardworking and fast, drainage systems never fail, informations about blocked roads are conveyed fast to the public via radios or electronic boards.
On the overall, we Singaporeans are pampered and spoiled by the government, don't you readers agree?
I just love this beautiful picture, don't you?
